SnugpakA Little About SnugpakSnugpak is based in a listed mill built in the 1800’s on the
edge of the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. We are very proud to be one of
the last manufacturers of quality sleeping bags and insulated clothing
not only in the UK but across Europe.
We have a dedicated workforce at our West Yorkshire factory in the North of England who are trained to use state of the art machinery and traditional sewing techniques to bring our ideas to life. The company was founded in 1977 by a deep sea diver and his wife who saw an opportunity for American style insulated body warming suits that could be warm under Dry Suits in the UK and grew the company from a cottage industry into a nationally recognized brand. The company still remains independent although now under the control of the long time Directors, Michael Dobson and Susan Parrish who have led the company into the new millennium and have made Snugpak into an international brand leader. Snugpak products have been used on every permanently inhabited continent and the company enjoys long standing contracts with many government defense agencies for both sleeping bags and clothing. This obviously is due to the not only to the performance of our products but also our quality workmanship and materials that go into every item Snugpak offers. Snugpak’s innovative and user friendly designsare drawn from over thirty years of experience and customer feedback. Our sleeping bags have also been tested by universities and specialized testing institutions in the UK and Europe in accordance with practices laid out by the European Outdoor Group and EN 13537. These figures are available on request but it is important to ensure that you are familiar with the testing procedure and know how to interpret the results, particularly their extreme figures. Our comfort figures assume you will be sleeping lightly clothed (thermal base layer or PJ’s) within a tent on a good quality sleep mat and we would hope that this figure will not disappoint the majority of users. There are many variables involved in a good nights sleep, not least fitness and metabolism. If in doubt stick to the comfort figure! All pack sizes are fully compressed, and all sleeping bags come supplied with a compression stuff sack. Our sleeping bags leave the factory rolled into the stuff sack as we have too many to pack by hand but we would suggest that you stuff your product back into its pack as repeated rolling over the years can lead to stress on the insulation. For long term storage we would advise you not to keep the product fully compressed. as all our figures are predominantly based on customer comment we reserve the right to modify product specifications at any time. |
